Maricopa Community Theatre

Maricopa Community Theatre is excited to announce auditions for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s legendary rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar! We are seeking a diverse and dynamic cast of singers and actors to bring this powerful musical to life.

ABOUT THE SHOW: This modernized production of Jesus Christ Superstar will set the events in present-day times, drawing striking parallels between the story of Jesus and today’s celebrity culture. Exploring the political and interpersonal struggles between Jesus, Judas, and other key figures, the show highlights themes of media influence, public perception, and the cost of fame. This high-energy rock opera features iconic songs like “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” and “Gethsemane.”

This production will be directed by Brittany Randolph and will perform May 28th – 31st 2025 at Leading Edge Academy, Maricopa. Tickets will be on sale soon!

It’s showtime!

Join us this summer for a thrilling, hilarious, and slightly spooky musical adventure in Beetlejuice Jr. — the junior version of the Broadway hit based on Tim Burton’s iconic film! Campers, ages 8-18, will sing, dance, and act their way through this high-energy, wildly imaginative story about life, death, and everything in between.

Over the course of this six-week camp, students will work together to bring the world of the recently deceased (and the dearly dramatic Beetlejuice) to life. From building characters and mastering musical numbers to exploring comedic timing and stage movement, every camper will get a chance to shine—whether they’re a seasoned performer or stepping onstage for the first time.

Camp culminates in a fully staged performance for family and friends, complete with costumes, lights, and all the ghostly fun you can handle.

Dates: Mondays – Fridays, beginning June 2nd
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Location: Leading Edge Academy Maricopa Cafeteria
Performance: July 9th – 11th at 7pm and July 12th at 2pm
